Anders S. Schönberg, CEO and co-founder

Anders has led the growth of WaveMetrix as CEO since 2004 and played a key part in building our methodology and team. He brings broad experience of finance and strategy gained from a background in venture capital, corporate finance and strategic advice. Before WaveMetrix he was a co-founder of two successful companies. Most recently Anders was a founding Partner of Acta Wireless, an investment and advisory firm. Before that he was the founder of Faktum, an advisory boutique. Anders has experience as a venture capitalist with Argo Global Capital and as a corporate financier with UBS Warburg. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and holds a BSc in Management Science from Warwick Business School. He is based in Barcelona.

Alan Ault, Managing Director and co-founder

Alan is an expert in understanding and analysing social media. As the first employee at WaveMetrix he was pivotal in developing WaveMetrix’s innovative methodology for understanding and measuring social media. Alan also has a wealth of experience gained in a variety of senior roles in leading technology companies. Prior to joining WaveMetrix, he was responsible for redefining company strategy and positioning at 2helix, a leading specialist telecom consultancy. Before 2helix, Alan acted as General Manager, EMEA for SOTAS, a leading data analytics company where he was responsible for delivering complex international analytic solutions. Alan has also held senior roles at Alcatel and AT&T. He is based in London.

Graham Stead, CTO and co-founder

Graham has led the development of the WaveMetrix technology platform since 2004. He brings over 15 years experience building solutions for wireless and Internet companies. Prior to joining WaveMetrix, Graham was VP and Chief Scientist of Invertix Corporation, where he developed fault tolerant SDRs, presence and messaging systems, and unattended sensor systems for wireless data networks. Previously, Graham was a wireless consultant who designed and deployed cellular networks and services. He earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech and his MSEE at George Mason University. At Virginia Tech, he was a researcher in the Mobile & Portable Radio Research Group (MPRG) and worked on parallel computational techniques for radio propagation prediction problems. At George Mason, his research focused on protocol and interference analysis for 3G mobile communications systems. He is based in San Diego.

Alan MacIntosh, Chairman

Alan has over 20 years of international business experience starting in oil exploration with Schlumberger. He joined Canada’s Telesystem group in 1990 as Director, Wireless and established mobile operations in eight countries, managing the UK business for three years. In 1997 he joined Microcell and co-founded GSM Capital, the first global wireless fund. As a Senior Partner at GSM/Argo Global Capital (combined funds of $460M), he led eight investments including the most successful, Saraide. Alan, founder and President of Carpu Conseil, currently sits on the boards of Terrascale and Oz. He is also Managing Partner of Acta Wireless. A native of Scotland, he holds a BSc (Hons) in Offshore Engineering from Herriot-Watt University and an MBA from INSEAD.

David Sola, Non-executive director

David is Partner at Arma Partners, which he joined in 2007. He previously spent seven years building, managing and realising the Softbank Europe Ventures portfolio of early-stage technology companies. Prior to Softbank, he was Co-Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Europe at UBS Investment Bank, and over nine years was the lead M&A banker on over $55 billion of completed transactions. He also served as Assistant to the CEO and Chairman of SG Warburg, and to the CEO of SBC Warburg. Earlier in his career he worked in First Boston’s M&A Group in New York, and with the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

David holds a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an AB Physics from Princeton University. He is dual US/UK national and is admitted to the New York Bar.
